Bench International Conference

Working closely with the in house marketing and design teams, Sundae created a showstopping international fashion and music extravaganza for Bench’s global team.

We collaborated to devise and implement an inviting tour of Manchester that kicked off with a creative, high-end fashion show and key look presentation at Manchester’s iconic Museum of Science and Industry (MOSI), and culminated in a finale that took over key live venue, and Manchester’s Bar of the Year, Gorilla, with a show that featured hotly tipped UK acts Bipolar Sunshine, JJ Rosa, Letters to Fiesta and Brown Brogues, with the Warehouse Project’s Krysko, all hosted by Xfm’s Jo Good.

A bespoke brand pulled all elements of the trip together; named Explore, it was based on mapping, and visually welcomed delegates of every nationality to Manchester, while recognising Bench’s global impact.

The introduction was a hand made, personalised box in each delegate’s hotel room, taking in screen printing, foiling and letterpress, which included everything they would need for their trip, including a bespoke 20-page welcome book with the feel of a high-end travel guide, and glossary of Manchester slang in five languages.

The brand was rolled out across the trip with idents for the huge screens at the MOSI fashion show, plus window vinyling, visuals, menus and even beers at the Gorilla event.

Meticulous planning and attention to detail, counterbalanced with unusual venues and a fresh, energetic set of performances cherry picked from Bench’s pop up gigs in the Self Made Gallery, a key part of the 2013 campaign, made the event their most memorable to date.
