DVD and Blu-ray Launch of Spike Island

Sundae launched Spike Island on DVD and Blu-ray with a party; a unique and genuinely experiential event at Manchester’s famous Band on the Wall venue. We’d enticed fans to travel from as far afield as Forfar, London and Bristol – so the event had to pack a punch. We did this with a party, screening and Q+A – and created engaging content from the event to communicate the experience across all platforms.

With Xfm’s Jo Good at the helm, the event included a Q and A with writer and actor Chris Coghill in conversation with Xfm’s Tim and Jim, plus sets from three of the city’s hottest new bands: The Marivaux, The Quangos and The Minx.

The event and the complementary media relations and social media campaigns focused on the themes of the film; loving music, hanging out with your friends, all topped off with a dash of 1990’s nostalgia. The Times, The Guardian, The Evening Standard and the MEN were all talking about the launch and the social media campaign reached 12 million people in launch week alone.
